On Sunday November 18th Loughton Synagogue held a leaving tea for Rabbi Portnoy and his family to thank them for their 5 years at Loughton SynagogueThe hall was beautifully laid out with an array of delicious savoury and sweet treats.
Speeches were given by Philip Leigh (President) and Gary Stern (Chairman) as well as various members of the community who each gave personal tributes to Rabbi Portnoy. Lesley Adams and Deborah Shulton recited a poem followed by a presentation of  gifts from the community to the Rabbi and Rebbetzen.
The star of the show undoubtedly went to Coby with his rendition of Adonolam
